Carolyn joined Davis House in January of 2016 as Program Director and provided leadership and support for the Davis House direct service programs. In addition, she coordinated the Child Protective and Investigative Team (CPIT) meetings, communications, and professional development training, as well as provided child abuse prevention trainings to the public. In 2021, she managed the agency’s national re-accreditation process and soon after was promoted to Associate Director in charge of all compliance and human resource functions for the agency. She is a trained Forensic Interviewer and Victim Advocate, and an authorized facilitator of the Stewards of Children child abuse prevention program. In April of 2023, Carolyn was appointed as Executive Director of Davis House Child Advocacy Center.

Carolyn has her bachelor’s degree in Child Development from Mississippi State University and her master’s degree in Community Agency Counseling from the University of Memphis. She has significant leadership development experience that has strengthened her ability to lead. She has been in the social services field for over 25 years and has had the opportunity to work and lead in a variety of settings. She has experience in working with children and families in residential treatment settings, private school environments, children in the foster care system, and in juvenile courts. She is also skilled in grant management, event planning, and community capacity building.

When Carolyn is not at work, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Will, and their young daughter.

Janvi Shivdasani joined Davis House November 2022 as an Advancement Associate.

Janvi graduated from Pratt Institute in 2005 with a degree in Industrial Design and recently started a small business called Designs by Janvi sculpting pet portraits with a focus on Weimaraner and GSP’s.

She is an animal rescue advocate and foster mother for various animal rescues groups across middle TN.

Janvi lives in Brentwood with her daughter and a fur and scale pack consisting of 2 dogs, 3 cats, and a tortoise.

DeAnna joined the Davis House team as a Child and Family Advocate in October of 2013. Prior to then, she worked extensively with children and their families, as well as with law enforcement. Her previous employment includes Centerstone Mental Health Center, and with both the Department of Children’s Services (Child Protective Services division) and the Department of Human Services (Family Assistance division). DeAnna received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Psychology from Bethel College.

Since being employed at Davis House, DeAnna has received further training in child protection and child abuse prevention. In addition to being a Child and Family Advocate, she is an authorized facilitator for the Stewards of Children child sexual abuse prevention training, as well as a Forensic Interviewer following the National Children’s Advocacy Center (NCAC) model.

DeAnna is a member of the Child Fatality Review Team, the Lewis County and Hickman County Health Councils, the Hickman County Sexual Health Education Coalition, the Lewis County Community Advisory Board, and the Lewis County Historical Society.

Carrie joined Davis House in February of 2023 as the Adult Education Specialist. Carrie received her Bachelor of Science in Organizational Communication from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky. Before her move to Davis House, she served Rutherford County through community education by training adults on the Darkness to Light curriculum. Carrie is an authorized Darkness to Light facilitator and looks forward to serving her new community through adult focused child abuse prevention education.

During her free time, Carrie enjoys traveling (specifically to the beach and Disney World), spending time with family, and baking.

Lindsey recently joined Davis House as a Forensic Interviewer in October of 2017 and is trained in the National Children’s Advocacy Center (NCAC) model of forensic interviewing. She grew up in middle Tennessee but left for a brief time to attend college in Arkansas. However, the only degree she earned from there was her MRS as this is where she met her husband. She moved back to Tennessee with her husband to start a family. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and received her teaching license for the state of Tennessee. She began her teaching career with the Hickman County Board of Education where she worked her first year in the classroom and then four more years with the Maury County Board of Education. Her desire to do more for children outside of the classroom has led her to Davis House, where her skills are better suited allowing her to do more good for children.

Lindsey is very active with her church family and has served in several roles, such as Community Groups Leader, Bible class teacher & assistant with the Children’s Ministry, and works on the Community Group Developmental Team. She and her husband are currently raising four children and she lives a very busy life raising toddlers and teenagers. In her spare time (ha!), she enjoys catching up with her girlfriends.

Lindsey joined Davis House in March of 2021 as Child and Family Advocate at the Franklin location. She received a Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Studies with a concentration in Child Sexual Assault and Trauma from Ohio University. During her years of study, Lindsey became certified as a Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional and received a certificate in Leadership from the National Society of Leadership and Success.

Lindsey moved to Nashville, Tennessee from Cleveland, Ohio. Prior to moving, she served as a Victim Advocate at Canopy Child Advocacy Center where she provided resources and criminal justice support for children twelve and under who were survivors of physical and sexual abuse. In addition, she also held an on-call internship position in the Emergency Department at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital. She worked alongside the Pediatric S.A.N.E. Coordinator and performed crisis intervention for survivors of sexual trauma by assisting during forensic examinations. Lindsey also represented the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Center in Murfreesboro, TN as a Children Services Liaison where she served as a Domestic Violence Specialist.

Lindsey is recently married, previously Lindsey Lawes. When she is not working, she loves to do yoga, explore new places, and relax with her husband.

Taylor joined Davis House August 2022 as Forensic Interviewer for Lewis, Hickman, and Perry Counties. She received a Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Performance from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 2014. Taylor has worked in various social work roles with children and families. She has experience working with children and families in residential treatment settings, the Department of Children’s Services, and the juvenile court.

Since being employed at Davis House, Taylor has been trained in Cornerhouse model of forensic interviewing as well as the National Children’s Advocacy Center (NCAC) model of forensic interviewing.

When she isn’t working, Taylor enjoys spending time with her family on their farm.

Kailey joined the Davis House team as the Youth Education Specialist in July of 2022. Before joining Davis House, Kailey worked with children and families at TEIS and Health Connect America. Kailey received her Bachelor’s of Science in Family Studies at Freed-Hardeman University in May 2020.

Kailey will be working in the Centerville, Hohenwald, and Perry County areas. She was born and raised in Centerville and is excited to advocate for these areas. When not at work, Kailey enjoys spending time with her family, going to baseball games, and sleeping.

Haleigh joined Davis House in January of 2023 as an intern and was hired as the Clinical Therapist in the Franklin and Centerville offices. Haleigh received both her Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development & Family Studies and Master of Social Work degree from Middle Tennessee State University. She previously interned at a Child Advocacy Center in Murfreesboro, TN and was employed by the Department of Children’s Services as a trained Child Protective Services Investigator. Haleigh will attend training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). In her free time, Haleigh enjoys playing with her super cute dog Lucy, baking, and reading.

My name is Leah Joseph, and I was born and raised in the Nashville / Franklin area! I attended Samford University in Birmingham, AL where I received my undergrad degree in Human Development and Family Sciences, as well as a Master of Social Work. I have always had a passion for working individuals who may otherwise not be able to help themselves, especially children. In grad school I was a clinical intern at a child advocacy center outside of Birmingham, which led to my interest in working here at Davis House. I am excited to be a part of the team here at Davis House working to help children and families flourish. Some other things I greatly enjoy doing outside of this are baking, traveling, reading, trying new restaurants, and of course spending time with friends and family. 

Anahi Castillo is a proud Nashville, TN native with a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of others. She embarked on her academic journey at Middle Tennessee State University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Family and Human Development in 2018. Shortly after earning her degree, she went on to dedicate herself to serving the community as part of the Rutherford County Child Advocacy Center for 5 years. Recognizing the importance of continuous growth and education, she is currently immersed in a full-time master’s program in Family and Human Development through Arizona State University online, with an anticipated graduation date in December 2024.

She a proud Latina and native Spanish speaker. She finds joy and purpose in aiding marginalized communities, striving to create meaningful connections and promote well-being. Beyond her professional endeavors, she embraces a variety of interests. She enjoys makeup and exploring all things beauty, cooking and trying new recipes in the kitchen and spending quality time with her family.

Destinye Runions joined the Davis House in March 2024 as a Child & Family Advocate at the Centerville location. She received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 2021. Destinye then achieved her Master of Science in Forensic Psychology from the University of North Dakota in 2023. During her time as a student, she researched a variety of areas, ranging from social media’s impact on body image to juror decision-making in insanity cases.

Destinye has previously worked as a family advocate across south-central Tennessee where she aided nearly two dozen families. She provided resource linkage, developed service plans, held support groups, provided one-on-one monthly meetings, and much more. She also participated in community engagements and trainings to learn more about what resources are available for children and families. When she’s not working, Destinye enjoys running, weightlifting, and spending time with her dog.
